Damsel in Defense launched a limited edition pink pepper spray to celebrate the company’s ninth anniversary. From ideation to production and on to rollout, I owned the full creative process. The success of the Damselversary Pepper Slay lead to more limited edition packaging designs.
Vintage Damsel.
With this being a limited edition anniversary item, Damsel’s original brand color Bubble Gum Pink set the tone. I pursued the monochromatic design to evoke the original brand personality. I staged a photoshoot with Damsel’s CEO as teaser content for social media and email.
Anniversary Announcement.
The official announcement to the Pros (Consultants) on social media. I focused on incorporating handwritten elements to underscore the strong feminine culture the brand is built on, and presented it as a celebratory and exciting moment.
Redesign for the Moment.
I saw a gap between the anniversary theme and the existing product packaging. With a simple redesign that drew upon the vintage Damsel theme, the packaging became a seamless addition to the anniversary experience.
